Introduction

We want you to be confident in your purchase. This policy outlines your rights to cancel and request a refund in accordance with the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and our obligations as a Klarna, PayPal Cedit or ClearPay merchant, and will be referenced together in this document as “BNPL” (Buy Now Pay Later).

1. Your Right to Cancel

If you purchase a course online or by distance means, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 calendar days of purchase without giving any reason, provided that:
– The course has not yet started, and
– You have not accessed or opened any digital course materials, handbooks, online portals, or e-learning content.

To exercise your right to cancel, you must notify us in writing within 14 days of purchase by emailing info@marine-pro-academy.co.uk with your order details.

2. Exclusions to the 14-Day Return Policy

Your right to cancel and receive a refund will no longer apply in the following circumstances:
– You have started the course, whether online or in person.
– You have accessed or opened any course materials, including printed packs, e-books, digital content, or online resources.
– You have booked a course where the start date is within the 14-day cancellation period, and training is due to commence before the cancellation window ends.

Once any of the above apply, you will lose the right to cancel and no refund will be issued.

3. Refunds

If your cancellation request is received within the 14-day period and the above exclusions do not apply:
– We will issue a full refund via the original payment method, including BNPL, within 14 days of confirming your eligibility.
– Any BNPL payment plan will be adjusted or cancelled accordingly.
– Refunds can only be made to the original purchaser.

4. Course Transfers

Requests to transfer to another course date or delivery method may be considered at our discretion and may incur an administration fee.

5. Course Completion & Assessment

Purchasing or enrolling on a course does not guarantee successful completion or certification. All learners must meet the required assessment standards and attendance criteria. Failure to meet these requirements will not entitle the learner to a refund.

6. How to Cancel

To request a cancellation, please contact us in writing at:

Please include:
– Full name
– Course title
– Date of purchase
– Order number
– Proof of payment (BNPL or direct)

7. BNPL Purchases

If you paid via BNPL, any refund due will be processed through that BNPL system. Once we confirm the refund, BNPL provider will update your payment schedule and confirm directly with you. Please note that Marine Pro Academy cannot influence BNPL processing times once a refund has been issued.

Policy Updates

Marine Pro Academy Ltd reserves the right to update or amend this policy at any time in line with changes to UK consumer law or BNPL merchant terms.
